Barbaricum is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to provide support to a Navy customer. The Systems Engineer will work with a team of Software Engineers, Test Specialists, Information Assurance, Network Engineers, Logisticians, Analysts, and Subject Matter Experts to provide research, development, and software engineering in support developing, prototyping, and integrating current and emerging technologies, sensors, and systems aboard Navy and other DoD small Tactical Unmanned Air Systems (sTUAS) platforms. This program facilitates existing and future capabilities and initiatives across sTUAS technologies, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, C5ISR modernization goals aligned to the customer base that includes the Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and US Special Operations Command. This is a hybrid position requiring the candidate to live within a 100-mile radius of Naval Air Station Patuxent River in Maryland.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a roadmap for facility and laboratory technology system improvement recommendations, insertion, and transition
  • Perform a gap analysis to identify documentation required for transition to fielding, including maintaining facilities and laboratory technology systems throughout their lifecycles
  • Plan and document the entire lifecycle of facility and laboratory technology system implementation in order to facilitate the implementation of a well-planned systems engineering approach
  • Draft and provide recommendations for a wide variety of documents related to facilities and laboratory technology systems

Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a scientific, engineering, or technical discipline
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
