Barbaricum is seeking a Technical Writer to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center-Philadelphia Division with the analysis of HM&E machinery and ship control systems for sensor and control data on surface ship classes. Support includes performing analytical and algorithm software; engineering, technical, logistics, and program support for the development, prototyping, implementation and in-service support of Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in collecting and organizing information for preparation of user manuals, training materials, installation guides, and reports
  • Edit functional descriptions, system specifications, user manuals, special reports, or any other customer deliverables and documents
  • Translate basic information from work specifications, and technical documentation from NSTM’s, Mil Standards, and OEM technical manuals
  • Work with engineers and data scientists to ensure technical accuracy

Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Two (2) years of experience in a DoD or US Navy environment, in technical writing of engineering and software documentation
