Barbaricum is seeking experienced Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) Instructors to join our team supporting the United States Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC). This position delivers advanced training, operational integration, and program management support to enhance the readiness of Combat Mission Ready (CMR) JTACs, instructors, and evaluators. The JTAC-I will work directly with Special Tactics Groups and Squadrons across a dynamic and high-tempo mission environment.
Responsibilities:

Instruct and evaluate JTACs, JTAC-Instructors (JTAC-I), and JTAC Standardization and Evaluation Examiners (JTAC-SEE) through classroom, simulator, and live-fire training environments.

Provide daily operational support to Special Tactics units, aiding in the organization, planning, and execution of mission-focused training.

Execute program management functions including requirement tracking, readiness forecasting, and documentation oversight.

Maintain accurate training records in both electronic and physical formats.

Coordinate range and fires asset scheduling and collaborate with outside organizations for joint training execution.

Provide emergency response support and serve in a first responder capacity for injuries or incidents during training.

Sustain JTAC, JTAC-I, and JTAC-SEE qualifications per applicable service and unit-level guidance.

Deliver instruction in Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) environments.

Participate in operational planning, symposiums, and mission-focused conferences.

Support tactical scenario development, OPFOR role execution, and development of training visual aids.

Operate tactical communications systems, BAO gear, SUAS platforms, and military vehicles as needed.
Qualifications:

Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret; current TS preferred.

JTAC Instructor (JTAC-I) certified and current within the last four years.

Must have held JTAC-I and/or JTAC-SEE rating.

At least two years of SOF background or two cumulative years augmenting SOF as a JTAC during operational deployments.

Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.

Deep familiarity with AFSOC training structures, Combat Controller (CCT) mission sets, and ST training environments.

Ability to travel frequently, including OCONUS and to expeditionary locations with limited infrastructure.

Comfortable working long hours, weekends, and in close proximity to live-fire, pyrotechnics, and aircraft operations.

Experience with communications systems such as PRC radios, MBITRs, NVGs, lasers, and protective gear.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to develop instructional materials and documentation.

Willingness to complete Government and unit-directed certifications, safety training, and sustainment courses.
