Barbaricum is currently seeking a proficient Cloud Architect to join our dynamic team in support of the Program Executive Office Soldier, focusing on the engineering, building, testing, and deployment of innovative cloud service offerings.

This role involves developing new and enhancing existing cloud architectures, including the creation of architecture products such as technical architecture, business architecture, strategic planning, and business process design. The Cloud Architect III will play a key role in high-level enterprise architecture analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and development, ensuring our cloud services are robust, scalable, and aligned with our strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Engineering and Development: Engineer, build, test, and deploy cloud service offerings, ensuring they meet the program’s needs and standards.
  • Architecture Design: Develop comprehensive architecture products, including technical and business architectures, strategic plans, and business process designs.
  • Enterprise Architecture Involvement: Participate in high-level enterprise architecture analysis, evaluation, design, integration, and documentation, contributing to the overall development strategy.
  • Migration and Implementation: Lead the migration of systems to cloud architectures from disparate platforms, utilizing a wide range of tools for effective implementation or re-implementation in a cloud environment.
  • Architectural Expertise: Provide cloud architectural expertise to both management and technical staff, guiding the development and optimization of cloud solutions.
  • Strategic Development: Develop cloud system strategies and infrastructure designs that support these strategies, ensuring alignment with the program’s goals.
  • Technology Selection Advice: Advise on the selection of cloud technology purchases, considering processing, data storage, data access, and application requirements, to support operational and business line needs.

Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in cloud architecture, with a proven track record of engineering, building, testing, and deploying cloud service offerings.
  • Demonstrates high-level business and technical principles and methods to solve difficult technical problems creatively. Proficient in developing architecture products, including technical and business architectures.
  • Adept at migrating systems to cloud architectures from various platforms, with experience in utilizing a range of tools for system implementation/re-implementation in a cloud architecture.
  • Ability to develop strategic cloud system strategies and infrastructure designs that support program objectives.
  • Capable of advising on cloud technological purchases, ensuring they meet the processing, data storage, data access, and application requirements of the enterprise and operational business lines.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to provide guidance to both technical staff and management on cloud architectural matters.
