Barbaricum is seeking a Data Analyst to provide support to the USSTRATCOM J2 at Offutt Air Force Base near Omaha, Nebraska.
 
This individual will work with data sets to conduct in-depth descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics using structured and unstructured data on JWICS through the use of Python and SQL; and data visualization software such as ArcGIS and Plotly to gather, measure, organize, and analyze data.
 
Due to security requirements, this position is primarily required to be performed on-site. However, subject to project and customer requirements, team members may be provided flexibility for limited remote support.

Responsibilities

  • Gather data from primary and secondary sources as indicated by the Government, then reorganize said data in a format that can be easily read by either human or machine
  • Utilize Python statistical tools like NumPy and ArcGIS to interpret data sets, paying particular attention to trends and patterns that could be valuable for diagnostic and predictive analytics efforts
  • Prepare reports for executive leadership that effectively communicate the significance of their work in the context of local, national, and global trends that impact both the organization and U.S. national security interests and identifies trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data
  • Collaborate with programmers, engineers, and organizational leaders to identify opportunities for process improvements, recommend system modifications, and develop policies for data governance
  • Create appropriate documentation for the Government that allows stakeholders to understand the steps of the data analysis process and duplicate or replicate the analysis if necessary

Qualifications

  • Active DoD TS/SCI required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related major (i.e., Computer Science, Information Systems, etc.,); Certificate in Data Science or Data Engineering from an accredited college/university supplemental to a non-germane degree will also be considered
  • Intermediate Python experience
  • At least one year of demonstrated experience and junior-level knowledge of data analysis principles: predictive analytics, mapping, collecting data from multiple data systems on-premises and cloud-based data sources
  • Junior-level knowledge of complex data models, BI methodologies, data architecture principles (MDM, Metadata, API Integration, Database Design etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience using analytical concepts and statistical techniques

Preferred Experience

  • · Experience with ESRI products such as ArcGIS Pro and Survey123
  • · Familiar with git-based revision control
  • · Familiar with DevSecOps analytics development
