Barbaricum is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Product Owner to join our team in support of US Special Operations Command (SOCOM). As the Product Owner, you will be responsible for attending product management events and meetings as the development team requirements stakeholder and will have to effectively communicate these requirements back to the team. This role is designed for someone with strong experience in agile development methodologies. They will be responsible for defining Stories and prioritizing Team Backlog based on extensive conversation and discovery with government customers. The product owner will play a significant role in maximizing the value provided by our development teams and ensuring stories meet the user’s needs.
 
This role will integrate as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting SOCOM HQ, CJSOTF, SOTF, and SOCFWD during recurring planning events, customer requirement discussions, and capability development. 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Team Backlog 
  • Iteration Planning 
  • Just-In-Time Story Elaboration 
  • Apply Acceptance Test Driven Development 
  • User Story Development and Acceptance 
  • Understand Enabler Work 
  • Participate in Demos as part of an Agile Release Train 
  • First Of A Kind (FOAK) solutions 

Qualifications

  • Active DoD TS/SCI Clearance required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field 
  • Previous working experience as a product owner 
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile methodologies 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal 
  • Strong presentation skills 
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure 
  • Strong knowledge of Jira and Atlassian tools
