Barbaricum is seeking a Senior Illustrator to support Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) . This individual will work as part of a larger contracting group to provide support for NUWCDIVNPT Public Affairs Divisions’ need for technical and creative guidance to include concept development, storyboarding, and graphic materials. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and creative guidance and expertise to the government by developing graphic design ,concepts, and messages
  • Identify products to communicate to targeted audiences, draft project plans, identify sources of content, develop conceptual designs, and illustrate themes by completing story board segments
  • Develop deliverables for trade show exhibits, graphic presentations, and command videos
  • Draft project milestones to meet project deadlines for review and approval
  • Travel to supported NUWCDIVINPT sites semi-annually
  • Prepare technical illustrations, graphs, digital imaging, and technical information reports

Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret clearance required
  • Proficiency in managing graphic art design, photography, video, and illustration projects
  • Experience in providing art direction, planning projects, estimating costs, project timelines, and identifying project materials
  • Proficient in the development of web designs and materials, internet sites, posters, and illustrations for subject matter experts in technical disciplines such as engineering and research & development

Desired Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design preferred
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, MS Office, SharePoint, and internet software tools
