Barbaricum is seeking a Senior Photographer to support Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport (NUWCDIVNPT). This individual will work as part of a larger contracting group to provide support for NUWCDIVNPT Public Affairs Division’s need for digital imaging, photographic prints, technical illustrations, and graphs. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide scientific and technical photographic, video, and digital imaging services
  • Operate both PC-based computer and Macintosh-based video editing suites
  • Monitor online inboxes for requests for services, and address walk-in and telephone customer requests for services
  • Provide photographic, video, and digital imaging services, including studio, location, copy, aerial, and Research, Development, Test & Evaluation photography
  • Utilize still cameras, motion picture and video documentation, and high-speed film-Capture photojournalistic images and edit and duplicate videos
  • Perform printing functions and digital imaging services
  • Deliver a conceptual plan to achieve technical photographic effects for review and approval
  • Deliver recommendations regarding modifications or improvements to Government requests for photography and imaging services
  • Deliver software-enhanced digital images including altered secondary photographic features
  • Operate and maintain state-of-the-art digital imaging and video equipment
  • Deliver technical recommendations to the government laboratory coordinator
  • Provide photography and videography services on U.S. Navy ships and submarines
  • Deliver images and videos of captured footage for Government review and acceptance 
  • Log, label, record pertinent metadata, and file all GFP photographic and imaging media
  • Provide technical illustrations, graphs, digital imaging, photographic prints and slides

Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret clearance required
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, filming, editing, sound mixing, graphic design, and compression output for photography and video
  • Experience with operating and maintaining analog and digital video, still cameras, and video editing equipment and related systems and software
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • Creative planning skills to translate abstract concepts into effective visual form

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts or Associate Degree in Photography/Videography preferred
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite photo and video editing software
