Barbaricum is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vehicle Telemetry/Maintenance SME to support the United States Marine Corps (USMC) in implementing and managing condition-based maintenance for ground-based vehicles. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing the telemetry and maintenance data from vehicles, ensuring they are in a constant state of readiness for operational use. This position requires a strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, vehicle/engine performance, telematics, and a firm grasp on the maintenance necessary to preserve equipment/vehicles in an optimal operational state. 

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate condition-based maintenance programs for USMC ground-based vehicles. 
  • Oversee telemetry systems to monitor vehicle performance, identifying and addressing potential maintenance issues proactively. 
  • Analyze telemetry data to assess vehicle/engine conditions, conducting troubleshooting as necessary. 
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement maintenance plans that align with USMC requirements and best practices. 
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on vehicle dynamics, vehicle/engine performance, and telematics to support decision-making processes. 

Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Associate's degree in Diesel Engine Mechanics, Tank Mechanics, Telematics, or Military Mechanics. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in vehicle telemetry/maintenance, preferably within a military or defense-related environment. 
  • Experience working with USMC ground-based vehicle maintenance programs. 
  • Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, performance, and maintenance practices. 
  • Proficient in working with telematics systems, including SAE J1587 and SAE J1939 protocols. 
  • Knowledge and experience with condition-based maintenance practices and systems. 
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines. 

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Understanding of military vehicle maintenance regulations, guidelines, and standards
