Barbaricum is seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to support our Ballista team at Fort Cavazos, TX. This position plays a critical role in advancing cybersecurity and compliance efforts in direct support of U.S. Government customers. As an FSR ISSO, you will serve as the on-site lead for managing Authorization to Operate (ATO) activities, working closely with engineers and stakeholders to ensure secure and compliant deployment of mission software.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve ATOs for Palantir software across multiple government customers with minimal oversight.

  • Conduct and manage continuous monitoring activities of assigned systems.

  • Partner with engineers to analyze software, interpret security requirements, and plan effective control implementations.

  • Provide policy expertise, exceptional customer service, and accurate security documentation.

  • Act as the primary in-person point of contact for cybersecurity and compliance matters.

  • Independently interpret vulnerability scan results (ACAS, SCAP) and maintain a POA&M for remediation efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

  • Proficiency in interpreting and communicating government security policy to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under pressure.

  • Experience accrediting IT systems using frameworks such as DoD RMF, ICD 503, or DIACAP.

  • Initiative in identifying challenges and proposing creative, proactive solutions.

  • Active DoD 8140/8570 IAT II certification (e.g., Security+ or CISSP).

  • At least 2 years of experience directly supporting RMF/ATO processes.

  • Hands-on experience with on-prem environments and security tools including ACAS and STIG-related software.

  • Ability to be on-site 5 days per week at Fort Cavazos, TX.

  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
