ABOUT DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE INFORMATION ANALYSIS CENTERS
First established in 1946, the Department of Defense (DoD) Information Analysis Centers (IAC) continue to serve as an essential resource for research and analysis in innovative technologies to support current and future operations. The DoD IACs continue to prove their value in maximizing the utility of DoD research and development dollars by emphasizing knowledge re-use and building upon previous research, development, and other technical information.
The DoDIAC helps researchers, engineers, scientists, and program managers utilize existing Scientific and Technical Information (STI) and drive innovation across DoD with technical analysis and development of material solutions to advance DoD’s warfighting capabilities. Our vision is to drive innovation & technological developments by anticipating and responding to the information needs of the defense and broader community, while enhancing collaboration through integrated STI development and dissemination. The mission of the IACs is to collect, analyze, synthesize, produce, and disseminate STI to DoD and Federal government users. IACs support USD(R&E) in carrying out the R&E community’s three strategic guiding imperatives—Mitigate new and emerging adversary threats that could degrade U.S. (and allied) capabilities; Enable affordable new or extended capabilities in existing military systems; and Develop technology surprise through science and engineering applications to military problems.
