BARBARICUM APPROVED AS DOD SKILLBRIDGE PARTNER

The Barbaricum DoD SkillBridge Program will support transitioning Servicemembers in gaining civilian career experience

WASHINGTON, D.C. – July 9, 2021 Barbaricum recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) to become a DoD SkillBridge partner.

The service-disabled, Veteran-owned small business holds a unique perspective and commitment to supporting transitioning Servicemembers, as 50% of Barbaricum’s leadership have a first person understanding of separating from the military.

“Separating from the military can be a challenge in itself,” Scott Feldmayer, Barbaricum Partner said. “At Barbaricum, we understand this personally and want to be part of the solution for our military members and their families. It’s important that we establish programs to help them gain access to their civilian dream jobs.”

Under the MOU, the Barbaricum SkillBridge Program will provide real-world training and internships to transitioning Servicemembers who are within 180 days of separating from the military and who have completed at least 180 days of service. Specifically, program participants will become integrated within Team Barbaricum and gain insight on how to effectively oversee projects, budgets, and schedules at various levels of the business. This opportunity will also include hands-on experience throughout the company’s corporate, cyber / intel, integrated communications, and mission support strategic business units.

“We’re excited to be a DoD SkillBridge Partner and provide new options for military members to add civilian experience to their resumes,” Daniel Edwards, Barbaricum Senior Talent Acquisition Manager said. “So much of Barbaricum’s work and our careers align directly with transitioning servicemembers’ experience. We’re excited for the participants to join the team!”
